Are you concerned about your adolescent? If so, you’re not alone.

This is a particularly tough time to be growing up. Effective help can be a real game-changer for tweens/teens and their families.

Parents often call me when they notice their tween/teen experiencing one or more of the following:

  • avoiding activities, school, family or social interactions
  • experiencing a drop in grades
  • feeling depressed or irritable
  • spending long periods of time online with social media or gaming
  • worrying excessively
  • lashing out at others
  • self-harming
  • having difficulties sleeping or concentrating
  • engaging in risky behaviors
  • having difficulties making or keeping friends.
My Approach

I enjoy working with youth (ages 11 and older) and approach them like I approach the adults I treat: as experts in their own experience. After a thorough assessment, I will offer you and your tween/teen a treatment plan. Together, we will determine the best approach. All sessions are designed to help strengthen parent-teen relationships and help your teen:

  • process difficult emotions
  • discover new insights
  • unearth strengths
  • learn new emotional, behavioral, and communication skills

Expressive arts and animal-assisted activities can be added to deepen engagement, ignite motivation and augment evidence-based therapy.

“Compassion is not a relationship between the healer and the wounded. It’s a relationship between equals.”
